Thanks for the tips..
i have a problem after installing the guest additions and re boot Suse 10 it wouldn’t run again and it just show a black screen! the mouse cursor moves freely between the host and guest machine. but the guest machine still black.. any idea please?

I had the same issue and you can solve it easier in the installation process. When you’re at the point where you have to specify the packages which get installed, you have to add the packages for gcc and the kernel sources, than you don’t have to download them later manually.
